TB-Mag Thrust Balanced Series

Compliant with ASME B73.3 or ISO 2858 dimensional standards, the TB-MAG incorporates many advanced features to enhance performance, safety and reliability. This versatile pump offers outstanding leakage protection for compliance with environmental regulations or “clean floor” initiatives. It has been engineered to provide low total cost of ownership in applications throughout the chemical processing, metals and other industries.

Revolutionary Thrust-Balanced Design

The picture shows what INNOMAG created and patented. The white arrows show the path that some of your liquid will take when it goes through the TB-Mag pump. The idea to keep in mind at all times is that high pressure (colored red) will always find low pressure (colored yellow). The top left picture shows that the suction side (left side) of the pump has the lowest pressure (colored yellow). The discharge will have the highest pressure (colored red). When the arrows are followed, the path traveled is liquid enters the suction of the pump and the center of the impeller. The impeller then centrifugally creates pressure with the liquid (red colored area). As the pump housing is filled with the pressurized liquid, some of the liquid will go around to the back side of the impeller and pass thru the back clearance ring set .

This area is fixed and creates a constant, restricting pressure drop (red color changing to green color). From here, the liquid will pass over the impeller (the magnet assembly) and go around to the impeller back end (balancing pressure). At this point, it will travel through the center of the impeller (green area again) and find the suction (the low pressure area).

Looking at the picture located just below, we find that a way to thrust balance the impeller is to simply combine the suction pressure and the pressure on the front of the impeller to go against the pressure (and thrust) from the back of the impeller (the green area). If the impeller moves forward due to thrust (picture lower left ) an opening controlled by the impeller becomes larger and allows more liquid to leave the green area, directly lowering the thrust and pressure. If too much thrust or pressure is lost, the impeller will move backward, closing the opening (picture lower right ) causing the pressure or thrust in the green area to directly increase against the suction and front impeller pressures.

Superior Solids Handing Capability

For magnetic drive pumps, solids can cause significant damage when in contact with the radial bearings, inner magnets and containment shell. The TB-MAG prevents this by using silicon carbide back wear rings to restrict solids larger than 0.127 mm (0.005 in) from entering the containment shell. Effectively, only clean liquid can reach the bearings and pump shaft.

Pure ETFE Casing Liner

Rotomolded ETFE liner is mechanically bonded to the casing, rated for full vacuum, and provides superior chemical and corrosion resistance. Liner has a minimum thickness of 3 mm (0.125 in). ASME B16.5 Class 150 flanges standard; Class 300, ISO PN 16 and JIS 10K flanges are optional.



One-piece ETFE Impeller and Inner Magnet Assembly 

Ensures maximum torque transmission, simplifies maintenance and eliminates balancing. Enclosed impeller with unobstructed eye delivers high efficiency and low NPSHR.



 

Powerful Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) Magnets with Double-sealed Inner Magnets

Our pumps are made using neodymium-iron-boron magnets which are the strongest available. Inner magnets sheathed in 316L stainless steel and encapsulated with carbon fiber reinforced ETFE for unmatched corrosive permeation protection.



 

One-piece composite containment

Outer aramid/vinyl ester shell for strength and Inner carbon fiber reinforced ETFE for optimal leakage protection and chemical compatibility. A burst pressure exceeding 205 bar (3000 psi) resists water hammer damage. Composite construction means zero eddy current losses for maximum efficiency.



 

Sintered Alpha Silicon Carbide Pump Shaft

Oversized cantilevered silicon carbide shaft eliminates shaft support to handle all radial loads. Stationary cantilevered design eliminates suction-blocking shaft supports to maximize flow and minimize NPSHR.



 

Tandem Sintered Silicon Carbide Radial Bearings

Bearings with PTFE center spacer provide optimum alignment with the shaft. Optional dry run protection (DRP) bearings available.

 

 

U-Mag Universal Series

The INNOMAG U-MAG fluoropolymer-lined, magnetic drive pump has been specifically designed to provide outstanding performance and low total cost of ownership in smaller volume pumping applications in a wide variety of industries. This versatile, compact pump offers outstanding leakage protection for compliance with environmental regulations or “clean floor” initiatives. An available high-purity configuration makes it ideal for applications demanding the strictest purity requirements. Dependable and easy to maintain, the U-MAG will deliver years of reliable, cost-effective service.

 

Ultra-High Purity Construction

For applications demanding the highest purity standards, such as semiconductor, circuit board and LCD manufacturing, the INNOMAG U-MAG may be specified in a high-purity configuration. For these applications, wetted components are made from ultra-high purity PFA or silicon carbide.




Universal Flanges

With its universal casing flanges, the U-MAG can accommodate ASME (ANSI), ISO and JIS piping connections.




Low Flow Design

INNOMAG can offers a low flow option to save you energy and better curve shape. Minimum continuous flow 0.2 m3/h.




Trouble-Free Maintenance

● Standard back pullout eases general maintenance and inspection. The casing stays in-line and the piping connections remain intact.
● Contained back pullout (shown) simplifies drive end maintenance. The process fluid remains fully confined, thereby eliminating the need to drain or purge the pump. Maintenance personnel are kept safe from potentially harmful process fluids.
● Fully assembled replacement kits are available for all major components, including: casings, impeller assemblies and containment shells.

 

True Secondary Containment

For the most demanding applications, such as TiCl4, the INNOMAG TB-MAG may be specified with an available long-coupled bearing frame fitted with an off-the-shelf, cartridge-style, dry-running mechanical seal. This design provides for a secondary containment chamber and does not require gas or liquid seal flush lines.

Power Monitor Dry-Running Protection

To protect your investment, INNOMAG recommends the use of a power monitor. These will provide early warning alarms or immediately stop your process in the event of any interruption. This will prevent damage and inefficiency, if for example, a pipe is blocked, a valve not fully opened or the pump is running dry.

ThermicSense temperature monitor

INNOMAG’s ThermicSense temperature monitor is installed in the drain of the pump. This allows for an accurate measurement of volute temperatures without requiring drilling through the casing or making other complicated modifications. Our ThermicSense monitor is compatible with the drain on any INNOMAG pump. 

 

Base Plates

INNOMAG offers our standard custom steel C-channel Baseplate or Basetek's non-metallic polymer concrete bases for unmatched surface flatness while offering superior corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and excellent vibration dampening.
